As another pro-Phil Brown point, he would be likely to use some of Hesketh's methods and more excitingly his contacts.
Phillip John Brown for me.

Has Phil the management experience though? Is he Tony's choice? Those young good players didn't work out at Stockport who are doing better now him and Lord left. I don't want us being used as an experimental side for young players, I want the right blend that will win us games.
I know I'm rubbishing all the suggestions! It's the glass half empty in me! I hope we've a raft of CV's, have a good interview process and hope one jumps out as the right man

So what your saying (don't get me wrong) is Harvey is not welcome due to his Red side ? so should we send back Hunter, Clark, Carlton etc etc ??? now if you said Stringy I'd agree, But he can rot with Kendull !!!!
Surely we would welcome anyone (except Stringy) who is going to put in 110% and get us going in the right direction ?

I think we can all relax about Jim Harvey {or breathe a sigh of relief, Conmac}, he is currently assistant manager at FC Halifax who have just appointed Darren Kelly their new boss and wants Harvey to be his assistant.
I do agree tho that this anti-ex-Morecambe thing is dated now. Let it go.
Mark Thornley, Stuart Diggle, Barrie Stimpson, Martin Eatough, Kenny Mayers, Mark Shirley, Paul Jarvis, Lee Dodgson, John Coleman, Michael Stringfellow, Aaron Taylor, Garry Hunter, Danny Carlton....spot the theme, and those are just a few that I can remember. Some of those names are City legends. As soon as they pull on a blue shirt, fine by me, As for the new boss, after TH said no, I wouldn't argue with Phil Brown.

Shame about Tony, but what can you do..... appoint someone else Mad
I'm a big fan of Sully as a bloke, not sure he'd be the right man for the job. As for ex-o'er the lune people, we've accepted plenty of players so why not a manager. I'd rather have Brownie though.

Add Colin Potts to the list of ex-Enemy, and even go back decades to Ken Udall and Mick Hoggarth. Anyway, hadn't Tony been assistant manager at Overlune before his first spell with us? Like many others, I am bitterly disappointed that Tony isn't to return. His first spell produced two cups, a series of record finishes and, in my opinion, the best football I have seen in over fifty years at the Axe. Had the money been there, I believe that he would have taken us into the Conference in 2002. His second spell brought us another cup, and would have given us promotion had it not been for the lottery of playoffs. Again, there was exciting football from the likes of Connerton, Farrell, Sharrock, Jarvis, Fearon, Swarbrick, Hattersley, Kenyon etc etc. Does Tony's offer of help extend to putting the club in touch with promising players?
As for Sully, he worked marvels at Laird, but his travel would presumably be too expensive. Phil Brown an intriguing prospect.
My last word on Tony Hesketh would be that I hope the Axe will always feel like home to him.

You omitted the greatest ever player to come to us after a short spell over there, Ryan Zico Black!
I would agree to having Zico as manager!
Maybe a bit too far for him to travel.

Out of all the names mentioned since Chelsea Billy told us Tony was not coming back. I hope it is Phil Brown and we can get players as good as Alex Kenyon and Danny Hattersley back playing for us. I don't care if they come from Myerscough and are only here 2 or 3 years as long as we get a winning team and out of this division. The good local players soon move on anyway plenty are at Kendal now.
