Gainsborough

Is every game between now & the end of the season a "must win"? If so,I guess that starts with this one then! Pretty much mid table 'Boro look like candidates for beating, although they did put four past Radcliffe on Tuesday. Can we? Will we?

Another disappointing performance. Gainsborough aren’t a good team. When our team had confidence pre Christmas we would have beaten them easily. Even with today’s weakened team I feel we should have at least gained a draw but once we had allowed them to score it was as if the players (and us supporters!) thought oh not again. Perhaps the players are saving themselves for Wednesday night?
Minor puzzle. Why did we only have four players including a goalkeeper on the bench? Surely another of the reserves could have warmed the bench if only for the experience.

At least we showed some graft yesterday, although we certainly lacked any real craft. A side shorn of Blinkhorn, Norris & Armer huffed & puffed but very rarely looked like blowing a very limited Gainsborough's house down even though we did hit the woodwork twice. I think MF's statement in a recent interview that when we're not 100% on it we are a midtable side has been proven true. There is still the forlorn hope that we could win all our remaining games & so sneak into the playoffs, but after the Whitby & Gainsborough showings, it's a pretty slim hope.
The crowd was abysmal. I hope the fact that we seem to be slipping up of late doesn't blind people to just how well we have done earlier in the season. I honestly believe that any Dolly would've been more than willing to snap your hand off if they'd been offered this league position coming towards the end of the season last summer
