The racist remark did not come from anyone normally associated with singing, as it took place behind the dugouts at a time where they were on the West Road Terrace.

FDB , are you seriously suggesting that the racist remark aimed at a departing Droylsden player was made by a Droylsden fan?
I am not saying it was made by a City fan or from the singing group, but it still reflects badly on the club. The incidents in question have all involved different clubs. We are the common denominator.

The match seems to have got lost in the welter of debate on other topics which I'll enter my opinion on shortly.
I got the impression on Saturday that we were unbalanced as a team which I can only assume was due to being stretched with the resources available - why Carney was wasted out wide and Simon Wills at fullback seems somewhat baffling - I assume that Rob Henry is carrying an injury. Their dugout spent the whole of the second half exhorting their players to play on Wills and they got their reward. I have no hesitation in saying that the referee's performance was one of the most incompetent I've seen in a long time and it allowed their spoiling tactics to get to us but I think we may have to get used to that, especially at home, if we are to succeed this season, Wills in midfield would have made a big difference there.
Back to the dug out and the alleged racist remark, no one either knows or is prepared say, who it was, if it was in fact anyone, but it is something we need to be vigilant about, all I can say is I stand the whole game between the dugouts and didn't hear it but if I had I would have reported it - two things I can't tolerate in any shape or form are racism and child abuse.
Now for the subject generating the most comment - that chant. Firstly I, like many others, don't know the wording involved and I've been going to the Axe for nearly 58 years (12/11/59 from memory) and have become somewhat immune to most of the language I hear at matches but I don't have children and I'm way past being impressionable - I guess I'm more cynical now than I've ever been - however I have no doubt that there are enough people at our matches who do find this particular chant offensive and to me that is important particularly for the future of the Club because some of them are volunteers without whom match days would not succeed.
The Club has made what, to me at least, seems a reasonable request, they aren't asking supporters to stop the vocal support but simply to consider the feelings of others with regard to the tone and nature of that support. Anyone out there who is in any doubt about the importance of such issues should be aware that the Club is on warning for a number of incidents over the past few years, most of which are listed elsewhere in this topic, and all the requests made to supporters are done with this in mind. Allied to this is the matter of making the Club more acceptable to the wider community and to achieve that there have to be rules and obligations that have to be met for the greater good.
LCFC is virtually 100% kept afloat by volunteers who have no official roles outside of that status, without them the supporters who presently turn up at games would have no team to cheer because the Club infrastructure would not be there for games to be played and from my perspective if we put that at risk because of one chant we are staring down the barrel - as the initial posting implored - stop that chant.

I think LCFC has summed up the situation nicely and if we don't want to be in further trouble with the powers that be, I suggest we keep the songs/chants free of anything deemed to be offensive. Is that too much to ask?

Is the chant officially banned now?

It's a free country and nobody is in a position to ban chanting. It's a simple request to refrain from anything which may cause offence. I'm
sure you know the difference.

We sing enough other songs so that refraining from WCWMWKYMAD and "you've had your day out" shouldn't be a problem.

I feel its a disgrace that LCFC allow this to take place at most of their games!

I am now attending less fixtures at the Axe due to this!!

It is about time that this brought up in parliament and an act is formed!!
