Lucky not to lose. How come we can play against 11 but not against 10?

Very much off the pace today, 2nd best toa side who used their height advantage, apart from the goal don't think we had a shot on target, need to be better on Tuesday

They seem to have had the upper hand over us for ages but in actual fact it's only 18 months since we had a thumping 4-0 win over them at the Giant Axe.janinfrance wrote:Why can't we beat this lot?
The F.A. Trophy in general is a competition we struggle in. For the last five seasons we have been knocked out in the first round we have played, which for the superstitious doesn't auger well for the replay. You have to go back to 2004-05 to find the last time we played in four rounds of the competition: on that occasion we eventually lost to a team whose name I've forgotten.

Somewhat underwhelmed by today's performance! Going on that showing I'm not expecting much from the replay tbh, but I would be more than happy to be proved wrong.
We were dominated by their size & strength, we were lacking in both areas.
I can accept a performance like this as an "FA Cup hangover" but am hoping that we can return to the heights of recent week's performances asap

Every time they come here they pass it along their back 4 and play it out from their own corner flags yet we can never do anything about it.
Pressing harder would have posed no danger with those two lumps up front for them.
P.S. First Alex Meaney and now Adam Farrell. Put on some serious timber after leaving the Axe

A poor performance in the light of recent games. We looked more likely to lose than win in the 2nd half. Missed Connie up front and definitely lacked ideas. Too many misplaced passes. Will certainly have to improve if we are to progress on Tuesday.

Much better last night. Fully deserved the win. Pressed their back line from the outset and never let them settle on the ball. Their only shot in the first half was the equaliser and two quick goals after the break killed them off. Could have scored more. Onwards and upwards.
