Droylsden draw Empty Droylsden draw

23/1/2016, 22:00
Bit of a none event this one from what I could see up in the sponsors box...don't think we did enough in the final third to win the game. I think we looked tired towards the end of the game having played midweek, whilst Droylsden had a week off.

Look forward to seeing Jacob Gregory back. Cummings seems to be struggling to settle at this level at the moment.

Droylsden draw Empty Points dropped?

I would have taken a point at Ossett and three against Droylsden, so not too disappointing. We still struggle against the bottom teams though.

I think that overall we were pretty lucky to come away with a point. The Bloods had the better chances & should've won. We can take the consolation that we played well below par & came away with a point.Playing with 5 in midfield can leave Killer short of support, but when we went more 4-4-2 later on we did look exposed, although we were chasing a goal at the time too.
Without wishing to flog a dead horse, Gav Clarke is not now nor ever will be a fullback

I thought someone would have alluded to Droylsden's style of play which would have stood out in the Premier League. Spraying it out to full backs from goal kicks and trusting people with the ball under so much pressure. Either we are one of the only sides not to take advantage of this, or they have been attempting the strategy on pitches that allow it even less than ours.

So 10 draws now and 20 points dropped. More drawn games than any other team in the division. That could come back to haunt us at the end of the season. By the way, who is this Pilkington bloke who, according to the league website, scored for us in the 86th minute? If he's real, we must have won 2-1!

I stand corrected, as does the league website, but not the non-League paper.

One of those games having taken the lead it was disappointing to drop 2 points but equally Droylsden were the better side so a point is perhaps more than we were due. Droylsden's style of play definitely worthy of praise, and their number 4 (Jacob Wood) looked a very good player albeit only against 1 striker in Kilifin (whose lack of a right foot was exposed at various points yesterday). After the awful end to last season, and continuation with a goal strewn start to this Droylsden have seemingly come to a bit of late, after wins against Ossett Town and Scarborough they have drawn 1-1 with Mossley, Trafford, and ourselves in the past 3 games.

Their number 11 was pretty nippy as well.
