Showing my age a bit, this was the first Final I saw Lancaster play in, it may have been 1974/75 against Great Harwood at Bacup Borough OR versus Bacup Borough at Great Harwood. The memory is fading fast though I remember clearly seeing us lose 2-0 to Runcorn at Maine Road in the early 80's when Sean Gallagher was manager, though I think that was the NPL Cup Final.

Lancs Cup Final win was '75, and the Maine Road defeat was 1980, both when Sean Gallagher was manager. By the way, Sean is now in Woodhill House in Morecambe, suffering from Alzheimer's Disease. I was talking to his son Wayne at the Prescot game.sparrows left peg wrote:Showing my age a bit, this was the first Final I saw Lancaster play in, it may have been 1974/75 against Great Harwood at Bacup Borough OR versus Bacup Borough at Great Harwood. That's so sad to hear. I think Sean along with Alan Tinsley and Tony Hesketh are the three most popular managers we've had, Lovely fella Sean, loves the club immensely.

Yes, he was a regular in the stand until his illness became too strong. Some of us also remember him as a player!sparrows left peg wrote:That's so sad to hear. I certainly remember Sean as both player and manager. One of the best in both roles.

Brocker what else have we to play for after the FA cup and the Trophy apart from the 2 minor cups. If we got though to the first round of the FA cup and a fair way in the Trophy I would agree with you but we never do so it never causes a fixture pile up.
