City 1 Vics 0

Excellent result, goal by Jacko. Attendance disappointing, 187 against a "name" club. Presumably Vics didn't bring many? Everyone around us seems to have won, so we remain fifth.

Vics don't have fans (1874 Northwich got 225 for NWCFL 1st Div Challenge Cup match today) so 187 isn't perhaps as bad as 1st glance, but crowd looked thin.

Taking the Wakefield game out of the equation, this was a game between the two lowest scoring teams in the league. It was pretty darn dull in the first half with almost nothing to note.
Second half was a bit better with a couple of scoring chances for each side. Happily we created the best one thanks to Killer. Still think Wearing has more impact as a super-sub and expect Connie to fill the no.9 shirt to partner Jacko.

Scored 4 goals coming on a sub so far this season. He's like a small Alan Coarsparrows left peg wrote:Super-sub ? Just a sub me thinks.

First half was pretty tedious, Vics were somewhat more direct, but threatened very little. Think we need a bit of muscle in the center of midfield, Hunter was naturally lacking match-fitness, but still think we need someone alongside him. Our goal came from the best bit of football of the afternoon, great work from Killer. I wasnt over-enamored with the thought of Tom playing wide left, but if the Jacko/Connie partnership clicks it may be a position he has to get used to. We defended well, and never really looked like conceding If as I heard we are after signing Cowperthwaite, the defensive reorganisation will be interesting.

I thought it was an intriguing game between two footballing sides. Mike Hale was my MOM for two fine saves, plus over all command of his area. Personally, I never found it dull, but it was always going to be settled by one piece of magic, which Killer provided. Do we know anything about Swabba's absence?LFC-LCFC wrote:Taking the Wakefield game out of the equation, this was a game between the two lowest scoring teams in the league. Cowperthwaite could possibly move into central midfield á la Andrew Teague.alasher wrote:First half was pretty tedious, Vics were somewhat more direct, but threatened very little. Without doubt that looks like a strong side, however I think that Cowperthwaite is too good at center half not to be playing there.......then what happens? Marshie to fullback?.....Eldo to left mid?......Killer to? See what I mean?LFC-LCFC wrote:Cowperthwaite could possibly move into central midfield á la Andrew Teague.alasher wrote:First half was pretty tedious, Vics were somewhat more direct, but threatened very little.
