We are certain to finish 2nd not 5th if Farsley do not crack up.Play offs are a lottery anyway its all about who performs on the day. A long way to go yet and when they won at Hyde 5-4 Hyde were down to 9 men. They could have been held by Prescot. Lets get the win at Colwyn Bay and hope they draw a few games.

Hardly seems worth updating this thread any longer. 8 games to go, 31 points still required. Maybe the new target should be 9 points required to guarantee the play offs?
What a mad week that was....at about 4.15pm last Saturday we were looking at going 12 points clear! I don't need to tell you the rest.
We desperately need to establish a decent run of form to take in to the play offs because the way we're playing lately we won't beat anybody. You've got to question what our strategy was yesterday...a distinct lack of width was never going to help our cause. When we had Crolla & Gregory attacking the flanks we were creating lots of chances, ok, we were missing most of them & it left us a bit more vulnerable defensively but I think that was preferable to what we witnessed yesterday.
Worrying times.

I suppose if the playoffs were our target at the start of the season then we will have succeeded, but the current situation is disappointing considering we have been top for the last two months. The number of points dropped against sides in the bottom half of the table is a worrying feature of our season. Having said that, playing teams in the top five should be to our advantage if and when the time comes.

I'll maybe change the thread title to "meltdown" too.

Goole certainly deserved the point they took off us in January, they must raise their game for the better teams. They've still to come to the Giant Axe though!SC GenSec wrote:Can you credit it ? Farsley go down 1-2 at home to - of all clubs - Goole Town !!

8 games to go, 28 points required.
Hopefully tonight's result will give our lads the motivation to regroup & find their earlier season form & smash every game through to the end of the season.

7 games to go, 25 points required.
Despite an excellently struck winning goal we were barely average for much of the game today. We seem to lack any kind of urgency. Tadcaster are bottom 6, yet for too long of the second half they had us on the back foot. We need to come out of the blocks firing & get the opposition rattled. It just doesn't seem to be happening.
Anyway, we're still in with a shout, a win's a win, just enough time left for a decent final push.
