Probably should have been about 8-0 against a really grim Ossett side that couldn't even park the bus effectively.
Good to see Mayers scoring as he hasn't done enough of that this season. Just a bit worrying we have so many players who miss sitters. Despite that, our quietly sound defensive record means we're top so can't complain too much

They were probably the youngest side I've ever seen at this level of football. I get the feeling we'd have scored more if we had to, but we looked very comfortable.

At least with Charlie Waters in an advanced role and Gregory/Crolla and Winder playing as wingers we were creating opportunities, and Louis looked less isolated. Ironic that Gav, having been touted as player of the season so far, isn't getting a sniff--the consequences of being suspended.

After my comments regarding midfield selection, I have to take my hat off to Phil Brown for gasping the nettle firmly. It must have been a very difficult decision to leave a talented lad like Billy Akrigg on the bench (a lad who is Dolly Blue to the bone) & he isn't the player that I would've left out, but that is really a matter of opinion (& my opinion doesn't really matter!)
As for yesterday's game, it was won easily won. I expected Albion to park the bus. Perhaps they did try to, but weren't good enough.
I have to say that I'm delighted to see us at the top of the table over Xmas! In a division that is actually a level playing field for the first time in a long time, we are showing our mettle.
The number of chances we are missing is a matter of concern I feel. We won't get as many in a lot of the remaining games & do need to be making them count. It was great to see Louis Mayers getting on the score sheet!
Any ideas as to who the "bit of experience" Phil mentioned in his interview may be?
