Radcliffe......
16/3/2016, 10:00
....had a good win against Farsley last night, so I would imagine that they aren't going to be any kind of push-overs on Saturday, especially as they are battling for survival.
The table is certainly tightening up as we approach the end of the season, & if we are to have any chance at all we need to play as we did on Monday evening, keeping the pressure on the side around us. Get down & cheer the boys on, fingers crossed & all!

Radcliffe have done us a favour as Farsley are chasing the final play off spot. If we play like we did Monday night we can beat any team in this division. Hope we have no injuries and we can start with the same 11.

And Scarborough have won at Northwich tonight. We don't want our remaining opponents to suddenly find form!alasher wrote:....had a good win against Farsley last night, so I would imagine that they aren't going to be any kind of push-overs on Saturday, especially as they are battling for survival

If the lads perform even half as well as they did on Monday they'll win.
Looking forward to seeing what Monday's game will do for our attendances...

I hope there is no sense of anti-climax after Monday. I remember after we won the League Cup in 2000, the players came out to parade the cup around the ground, only to find it almost empty (the ground, not the cup) and they proceeded to lose 1-3 to Leek Town. It was very much a case of "after the Lord Mayor's Show comes the dustcart." I hope that there will be a good attendance to roar the lads on again.

Not a classic match - Radcliffe were too poor for that - but a good win nonetheless. However, the attendance was not great - 203 according to the Evostik website. I had hoped that some of the extra 300 or so who turned up on Monday might have been inspired to come along, but obviously not. We need to tell people that attractive football has returned to the Axe - the best since Tony H departed. We have scored 20 goals in our last six matches.

15 scored in our last 4, with 3 wins and a draw (not including the penalty shootout). A few weeks ago we were bemoaning a lack of goals and suddenly we're awash with them. Long may it continue.7 more wins and we're in with a chance. Burscough are playing Clitheroe twice so two draws there might help.

We've now scored 78 goals in all competitions so with 7 games remaining have a chance of reaching 100 for the season.Tobycarvery wrote:A few weeks ago we were bemoaning a lack of goals and suddenly we're awash with them
It's an average of just over 3 per game needed, but if we can take advantage of the two matches against New Mills we could do it.

I make it 79 goals scored, 63 league and 16 cup, so 3 goals per game should do it. Hopefully, as you say, most of those against New Mills.

Yes, Just had another check TC and I'd missed out the own goal that won us the replay against Marske back in September.Tobycarvery wrote:I make it 79 goals scored, 63 league and 16 cup, so 3 goals per game should do it. Hopefully, as you say, most of those against New Mills.
Officially that's the only own goal for us this season, due to the absence of cameras at our games!
