He will score goals, no doubt about that at this level. However he isn't Ronaldo, his presence or absence isn't going to change our season.
Some context for those goals, 2 against 10 man Salford (1 penalty), 2 against 9 man Salford (1 penalty), 2 in the last five minutes against bottom club Padiham who were already 3-1 down (and yes I realise about 3-1 leads against Padiham), and 1 against 2nd bottom club New Mills where Kendal managed to draw 4-4 after having been losing 1-3 and winning 4-3.

Goals win games....even if we were to keep a clean sheet every now & then.......we still wouldnt win if we dont score. Given our track record against sides near the bottom of the table someone that could score against them would be useful, but as we already know Connie can score against anyone

We have the 5th best goals per game record in the division. We are not doing too badly on that front.
1 Droylsden 2.94
2 Kendal 2.41
3 Darlington 2.35
4 Harrogate RA 2.18
5 Lancaster 2.13
6 Spennymoor 2.08
7 Farsley 2.07
8 Bamber Bridge 2.00
etc
We only have the 14th best defence in the division though, thats of more concern.
1 Darlington 0.53
2 Northwich 0.94
3 Salford 1.00
4 Spennymoor 1.15
5 Farsley 1.43
6 Warrington 1.45
7 Droylsden 1.53
...
14 Lancaster 1.93
...
17 Kendal 2.12

Unlike yourself I'm not a great lover of statistics, but that is an interesting one. I wonder if it indicates that other teams dont make so many chances,or if being profligate is normal at this level, because we certainly make chances. Got anything of our conversion rate?janb wrote:alasher wrote:

No, Opta haven't quite got to covering the Evostik yet

Zak Hibbert from Clitheroe to Skem. What does that imply, if anything, about Martin Fearon?

Fearon is injured. Had a collision with one of his defenders against Whitby and had to go off with knee injury.
