Spennymoor Empty Spennymoor

..new week, new outlook? I'm hoping that we can show some more positive intent this evening. I thought that Spenny were the best side I saw last season, so I'm expecting more of Saturday's outlook tbh. Wonder who will play up front? Cant see Tayls being fit after limping off on Saturday, Pooley seems more of an "impact" player. Carlton for 60/70 minutes maybe? Although I cant see him being able to put in the work rate required of a lone front man. I'm on 2-10 so I'll be interested to read your views tomorrow. Hoping for some tweets to keep me informed of whats going on.

I was speaking to Danny on Saturday and he's enjoying it very much at City though he doesn't expect to be fully fit till around Christmas time. So who up top tonight me wonders, got to be two. Where is this Elliott Allen-Facey ? I thought he'd been given cleareance to play. On the twitter front, especially home games, info is very sparse for those who can't make it. No team line-ups on Saturday, we kick-off full time score that's it....is LCFC live still ongoing ?

I would like to see Carlton starting, his touch and hold up play is there for all to see, but I agree that it would have to be in a pair. However, with Peacock's philosophy and the fact Spennymoor are not only the best but also probably the outright fastest side in the league, 2 up top could be asking for it.

I would suspect Poole starting, perhaps Pearce in for one of Shaq/Gregory if they want to shake up the 3 behind.

Oh Dear Oh Dear Oh Dear !!!! - Sorry guy's but this form is heading us in to a bottom 5 finish not a top 5 promotion push - 0-3 and one off the line plus the shot that hits the crossbar, this could have been even more embarrassing ! we were poor at best !!!! Evil or Very Mad

Only 8 games gone, but less points at this stage than even in the Stringfellow/Wainwright season. Crying or Very sad

Why do our best players leave us?

Maybe promotion at the tenth attempt in 2016-7 Evil or Very Mad

That second half performance was a shambles. Its not the first time we've left ourselves in the dressing room at Half-time. Toothless going forward once again. I say that because in the first half we held our own easily. Take nothing away from that first goal, a corker. Early doors, I know but we will start looking over our shoulders shortly because I just can't see us scoring many goals this season. Something is wrong when people are leaving with 20 minutes to go.

Credit where it's due Spennymoor remain the best and fastest team I've seen at the Giant Axe, so they put paid to our defensive frailties more than other teams would have.

However, that's the least threatening going forward we've looked all season, in a season where we've not threatened going forward.

Hale; Antoine-Clarke, Freeland, Marshall, Clark; Pearce (Bent), Hunter, Winder, Whittington; Breslin (Carlton), Poole
Unused: Davis, Hudson, Gregory

I think we should not go too far into negativity. We were beaten by a better team, we were outclassed by Spennymoor last season as well, so in that sense you could say we haven't progressed, sure, but I don't know that I expected us too.
We did manage to keep it relatively even first half, our set piece delivery from Gary Hunter (not a good day at the office) in particular was appalling however and that was probably our best chance of creating anything.
Second half they scored a good goal early, and after that the gap in class told. To say we missed Taylor is obvious, and it was men against boys in a lot of places.
We haven't had an 'easy' home game yet so whilst its not great I'm not reaching for the Stringwright reference points just yet. So far,
Beat Burscough away
Draw with Bamber Bridge who haven't had great start but were fancied at start of the season
Beat Witton at home
Lost to Clitheroe away which was disappointing but tonight they did end Northwich's 100% record
Draw with Drolysden away which was disappointment granted as you'd hope for a win
Draw with Warrington away who are currently 4th
Draw with Glossop home which was poor performamce but they are currently 3rd
Lost to Spennymoor at home who are now 2nd
