I avoid the non-league sites on a sat' night as I find it spoils my sunday non-league paper! lol

10 games played only one defeat but five 1-1 draws. Have to agree we didn't really have a go at them until after the equalizer. We seemed to be playing with just Taylor up front and never seemed to attack in strength. Maybe we're so scared of conceding that we don't impose ourselves on the opposition enough. We were certainly fortunate to get a point yesterday as I thought Glossop were much livelier than us and looked more like the home side. It wouldn't do any harm to experiment up front as we're desperately short of firepower.

Sorry but I couldn't understand why we chose those tactics at all yesterday. Why only one Striker up front {Taylor} with little or no support coming from midfield. He had four or five defenders all around all game and we still hoofed the ball up front. Granted they are a half decent team, spent a bob or two as well but does nobody play 4-4-2 with wingers these days. Now it looks like Taylor's done a hammy so you cannot play Pooley or Carlton up top against Spennymoor. I actually thought we were playing for a draw yesterday....at home.

Peacock as he said when he took over is more influenced by Gerry Francis than Kevin Keegan, and there is a reason why Tony Pulis who typically has the best defensively organised sides in the PL likes working with Francis. In theory it could have worked yesterday but would have needed more boldness from Shaq, Ryan, Joe but whether they are let off the leash or not by DP I don't know. Ryan just didn't look comfortable yesterday and his was a pivotal position in the side. Eventually going to the two up top improved things and got us the slightly fortunate point.

There is a danger we spend too much time thinking "oh these are a good side" without realising the likelihood is this season there are a lot of good sides but no outstanding ones, and that we should impose ourselves a bit more.

Personally I thought Winder was he brightest spark, the only one who came close to making something from nothing. The fact that him only nearly creating something made him stand out was a measure of the type of game and performance it was.

The problem re. firepower reared its head at various times last season when Taylor was unavailable for spells and Kilifin had his injury problems late on. Nothing much seems to have been done about it since then.

I suppose the problem is that decent strikers cost money and we never seem to have any.
