City 3-0 Glossop

Considering how strong a side these were last season today was a pleasant surprise. After the first early goal the lead never looked in doubt.
The strike partnership between Connie and Mayers must be the best we've had since Sharrock and Connerton! Great to see
Thought young Westwood was very composed as the back as well, and great to have Gregory back. Fantastic winger.
Bring on el Brig #COYDB!

Totally agree re Connie, Mayers & Westwood. Once Louis is 100% fit & playing 90 minutes...........wow
We looked a bit dodgy in the second half at times when we gave the ball away too often & so invited pressure. On the whole very impressed!
A question for you though.....does Mike Hale go straight back into the side on Monday or not? I thought that the young goalie (Raybaud?) had a great game, his back-pedalling save near the end of the first half was excellent & his distribution throughout the game very good

I hope I am not tempting fate by saying that the defence looked more secure than I have seen it for a while. Young Luke R in goal was generally impressive, though he had one slip when a corner went through his hands, and Ricky had to hook the ball off the line. I think that Mike's experience is definitely needed for the added pressure of a derby match. People were saying that Billy had been below par in the opening games, but I felt that he and Scholesy bossed midfield yesterday. Good to see a striker (Louis) winning the ball in the air.
