Defending can still be rather lax as evidenced by their first goal. Not entirely convinced by Winters yet.

Clitheroe had their injury problems but were a bit of a disappointment. They are 6th best on a points per game basis which is perhaps a more accurate reflection of their level, but certainly it isn't a good standard of division this season.

Good - great partnership developing between Green and Kilifin, both of whom had excellent games yesterday. We could see plenty more goals this season from these two, injuries permitting.

Bad - balance of team. Of course, we were unlucky that Wills and Wilson were both unavailable, but stringing four wide players across midfield just doesn't work, though Ryan is still playing well. And the only one of the four who is allowed to spend the whole match wide still hasn't played well enough to justify his inclusion. Meanwhile we no longer have an overalapping full-back.

Ugly - some of the defending. Our defence stood around watching their goals, and there could have been more. Also Macdonald's handling is still unreliable enough to give us palpitations, though this time he was lucky that it didn't give away any goals. A good partnership at centre back is essential, and Marshall and Gregson usually play well together, but Winters doesn't inspire any kind of confidence. However, maybe it would help if there were another defence-minded midfileder to help them out from time to time.
