Another long midweek trek. Looking forward to it though! Our game in hand to get back into the playoffs tonight. Even a draw would see the playoffs move back into our own hands. A win is a must surely.

Also hoping Killer can get some of the four goals he needs to break the 20 goal mark.

A terrible night. A team in the bottom six completes the double over us, making it one win in five and just four points from the last fifteen.

Meanwhile Farsley win at Curzon which puts them above us with, of course, a better goal difference as well. Crying or Very sad

What was that about tonight!

Not good after how we played on Saturday.

We now do need 3 wins!!

Decent cheezy cheese burgers!

Taking into account our first eight games unbeaten and our recent run of six wins on the trot, the other 25 games played have produced only 37 points, which, taken over a full season, would have left us well short of a playoff place. The point being that we haven't been as consistent as teams such as Curzon, Chorley, Fylde and FCUM, who succeed by having unbeaten runs stretching over a dozen or more games. We've had some notable wins over the top teams and then lost to sides like Salford and New Mills (twice). Having said all that, three wins from the remaining games still puts us in with a chance, give Brig's hammering at Northwich last night. Rammy and Farsley have some tricky games ahead, so it's down to us to get nine points and keep hoping. We could also do with improving our goal difference, maybe on Saturday, the we may overtake Brig. Although Killer has done well recently, we have certainly missed Connie's goals. Don't think we should have him back though if ever the possibility arises.

Whatever happens between now and the end of the season, its still been a terrific effort from the lads and of course DP considering its his first ever job as a manager. Considering last season's {shannanigans - I just love that word} 20-odd wins in the league this term is some achievement. We've tended to play better away than at home somehow and indeed can boast some memorable scalps on the road. I feel we are about two or three players away from being a really good side. Certainly maybe a couple of wingers and a striker - not Connie though, still feel badly let down.

Echoing SLP's comments, and thinking back to  our 96 point season, we had some real star players--Teague, Jarvis, Sharrock, Farrell, Connerton,--whom we couldn't afford now. I mean no disrespect to the current team (especially the likes of Hunter, Marshy, Killer, Eldo) when I suggest that, guided by DP, they  have punched way above their weight, and their present league standing does them immense credit. Also, we have been very badly damaged by the loss of Wills and Connerton, about which the club could do nothing, and of Jackson, where there may have been some fault.  All we can do now is continue to get behind them and hope they will continue to produce the goods while others falter.

With Darlington and Warrington having 80+ points it seems certain now that it's four clubs playing for two places.

This Saturday we have Darlo vs. Farsley and Rammy vs. Warrington. So obviously points are going to be dropped by two of the play-off contenders, but the problem for us could be that with Darlo and Wire having (surely) qualified for the play-offs, they might rest a few players to avoid injury, thereby giving Farsley and Rammy an easier task.

On the last day it's Rammy vs. Brig and ourselves vs. Curzon. Who knows what sort of effort Curzon will put in, having won the league several games ago?

I suppose it's just a case of take as many of the 9 points and see what happens, but if we don't beat Padiham I think we can forget about play-offs. A local derby at Kendal will be tough and Curzon might just end up being virtually a practice match before the holidays.....

At least we will still have a chance last game if we beat Padiham and Kendal. Even better if it is in our own hands when we play Curzon. What ever happens it has been a good effort by the team to still be in contention with 3 games to go. Do not blame Simon or Jordan for taking a chance on playing in Australia and would be happy for either of them to return in the future. Remember Ryan and Lee have both left us more than once and returned.
