I bet that Scholsey wishes that Rob Wilson would come back & take the heat off him    

The lad is 100% committed & that quite simply is all that you can ask of anyone in any job. If I, Janb or anyone else were better at playing football than Simon Wills, we would be in the team instead of him. Darren Peacock hasnt rung me & asked me to play on Wednesday, & I bet the same applies to all our regular message contributors. Criticism is destructive, whats the point?

If you could merge Wills and Wilson into one player, you'd end up with a very good player.

He brings pressure, defensive commitment and hard work, all important aspects to a victory. Maybe I'm just not as good a judge a player as you.

And for extra clarity I do not see him as our main midfielder, he is this squads utility man and in that role he had performed well, with as many poor games as the starting players.
To deride him so easily and flippantly for not be such a well rounded footballer is a little bit over the top to me. What are you expecting from him evo-stik's Xavi? Guess that makes Mahoney Iniesta.

All players have good and less good points – with Wills this is just more obvious and polarised than with most players. Where Wills is good – pressure, commitment and hard work, as AJ says – he is among the best in the squad, probably the best of all. Where he is less good – passing and ball control – he is among the least good in the squad. This is why I say I just wish he could pass – if he could pass just a little bit better, he would be one of the best players in this division.

So he is the sort of player that will always divide opinion. Is he worth a place in the first team when everyone is available? I honestly don't know – maybe yes against some teams and no against others. But he is definitely a great guy to have around.

Precisely Mr Careful, if Wills was better on the ball, and indeed maybe taller Delly , he would not be gracing Giant Axe with his angry little presence.
We could pick holes, rightly or wrongly, with most players at this level.
Yet none of us are players or managers, y'know. Our opinions really don't count for much, though we certainly deserve them. Supporters. The clue is in the name, if a player gives nothing then he probably doesn't deserve support, if he gives vital elements to a game then give him it. Waffle over.

Stand by your phone, Steve. I am sure that call will come. What we need is someone who combines Scholesy's attitude with Danny Mahoney's skill: at least we don't have anyone who combines Danny's attitude with Scholesy's skill.

And for all his skill I'd suggest he gives the ball away as often as Wills. Kind of my point in a roundabout way, all those lovely touches and passing ability yet does less for the team, on occasion.
