A deserved point Empty A deserved point

An equaliser in the last few seconds was apt reward for the Dolly Blues in today's encounter with Mickleover Sports. The wind and rain ensured that this was to be a scrappy game but City fully merited a point in a game of few chances. The visitors, as I recall, scored with their only two decent efforts on target whereas City had more efforts including Blinkhorn hitting the inside of the post and their keeper spilling a Winder free-kick from which the rebound could not be converted. The fortunate, very late equaliser gave one the feeling that it was a victory rather than the 'gift' of a single point.

We conceded both goals by poor marking off a corner and free kick. Surprised this happened with Williams back. Our first goal was an own goal and as South of the River says a fortunate late equaliser.
It did not help Paul Jarvis get a bang in the face very early on and Rob Wilson getting a knock after 30 minutes. A tough game now at Warrington to come

Both sides were rubbish so a draw was probably a fair result. We conceded two set piece goals when we had probably the tallest side I've ever seen representing Lancaster which seems odd. They worked hard throught the second half, but other than that offered nothing. Carsley's flukey late equaliser was maybe the only time he touhced the ball in their penalty area, he must be wondering what he's let himself in for. To be fair we were very unlucky to lose two of our most creative players in Jarvis & Wilson so early in the game & this must've affected us. Once again we created very little.Wills & Winder worked their socks off.
I don't want to hear anyone saying anything bad about Blinks, we looked a much better side when he came on

Glad I stayed until the end so I managed to see a candidate for goal of the season from new recruit Carsley, even though it meant missing my train home. Agree it was poor fare from both sides and in that sense a fair result, but only 9 points now from the 8 games played against the six teams at the bottom is a poor return. We really didn't create too many chances and even our goals were an own goal and a fluke. On the plus side, we prevented their two main strikers from scoring, but then allowed two of their defenders to score free headers from set pieces. It was fortunate for us in the end that the sending off of their player gave us the extra minute that allowed us to score.

Don’t really see the reason Mark changed the back 4 after a clean sheet
