Very poor attendance yesterday and presumably the game was not worth writing about?

I only caught second half but they offered little and we were being very direct. Winder a spark as usual

Winder a lone spark in an otherwise dreary 90 minutes.

"Dreary" makes our attacking play sound more inventive & exciting than it really was! Having said that, we did look much more exposed as soon as we changed to 4-4-2 (if that's what really happened when Louis Mayers came on, you know me & formations )
Although Mickleover had the better chances, I would regard this as two points that were available not really tried for rather than one point saved. If possession stats exist at this level, the ones for the first half of this game would make quite interesting reading. We seemed to have nearly all the ball, but not a shot at goal, while they hit the post & the bar. We passed the ball all over the place, barring into their penalty area In fact apart from the goal, did we have a shot on target throughout the game? No wonder their chunky #5 booted the ball out of the ground at the final whistle!
We got off to a bad start when Chris Cheetham was injured in the warm up & I believe that initially the ref wasn't going to allow Josh Powell to play as he wasn't named on the bench. I bet Gav Clark was happy, after seeing the saves that Josh made, that he didn't end up playing in goal as was the plan!!!
Other posters are right, Ryan Winder looks class at this level, but I thought that Adam Sumner (as well as Josh Powell) had a good game too.
We look relatively solid, but very uninspiring so far
