Dolly Blue Tavern to become student flats

Planning application from Prospect Estates (offshore based) approved by Lancaster City Council this afternoon.
Terrible decision on almost every level from the council. Nothing new there.

Something tells me if it had been that shower of shite from across the lune, the decision would have been totally different.

LCC full of morescum, I didn't expect anything else.
So now the club needs to put in good facilities inside the ground.
Surely something on the lines of Clitheroe's wouldn't cost much

Leeds based company: http://www.prospectestates.com/key-personnel/
Speaking of locals, a certain chairman of a certain unsavoury club works in planning for LCC...

Ah well, the DBT hasn't made us any money for years. Best thing is to move on and build our own new bar for a new era of City domination

There is a long history of City Council hostility to our club, even before local government reorganisation. For instance, some councillors opposed the erection of floodlights. After reorganisation, there was opposition to the rebuilding of the stand after the fire in '76. It seems that every development by LCFC has had to be fought for. As you rightly say, this is in sharp contrast to their attitude to the Unmentionables, not least when they allowed the sale of Crusty despite the ban on its use for non-sporting purposes. One possible advantage: the occupants of the flats will be on our doorstep, so let's get them THROUGH the door.sparrows left peg wrote:Something tells me if it had been that shower of shite from across the lune, the decision would have been totally different.

That is a bit of a "whopper" your Reverence. That decision was nothing to do with any Council. It was a decision for the Trustees of J B Christie who took the view that the covenant could be moved from one piece of land to another. It was decided in The High Court in London that it would have been the great man's will for this to happen.
