Summer football
10/6/2015, 11:38
Not many post on here lately so I thought that this may get people interested. What about summer football for non league teams, no mass TV coverage of premier league, maybe we would get more people going to games to get their football fix, better pitches to play on,less cancelation,we could start the season in March/ April and finish nov/dec,fa cup could start July for non league if any get through to the third round then they extend there season, not sure how far down the pyramid this idea should go but it as got to be worth a look, just think that if people have no live football then they might go and watch local teams.probably upset the cricket fans but we have to look after are own clubs,if we at Lancaster could get just 50 extra supporters for a home game that could provide about £400 in gate receipts and bar takings,I know this would take a while to introduce in the meantime what about trying Friday night home games.

Forget Friday nights. Just play 12 months non stop & increase the leagues to 28 teams in each....54 game season....that'd do me.

That's just what people said ten years ago about the World Cup being held in Qatar.

That's true but the point is that you wouldn't have thought of a World Cup being held in Qatar ten years ago. The corruption element is irrelevant to the point being made.

I've often thought summer football would be best for non-league clubs, less competition, better weather for spectators, less use of floodlights...but an issue aside from a FA Cup run would be how do you manage the transition of a team promoted from the summer league system to the winter league system.
