1033?!?!? That takes the piss! Their lads were saying circa 1800. If a few of our part-timers had have bothered it'd been nearer 2k.Dollyblue86 wrote:Official attendance according to their twitter feed earlier was 1033, they fiddling attendances again cos they have to share revenue in the cup?

That declared crowd figure is a scandal. It can't have been less than 1,500, and looked to be a good deal higher than that. FCUM's 5 home league matches this season have averaged 1902 - are they seriously trying to tell us that 900 of their supporters don't turn up because it's a cup match ( and the same 900 who didn't turn up in the last round v. Prescot, where the crowd figure was declared as 1,001 ?).
Isn't this fraud ? Are FCUM not stealing from LCFC, depriving our club its rightful share of the gate money ? Does the club have any recourse through the FA, such as demanding an audit of the arrangements ?

Agree there must have been at least 1500 there. Cracking atmosphere and a superb defensive performance from the lads. For sheer guts and determination, it ranks as one of their best ever games IMO. First half I thought was pretty even but after the break it was backs-to-the-wall stuff and I was just praying for the draw when we dealt the sucker punch. Thought Jacob and Ben at the heart of the defence were immense and Mike in goal kept us in it, but there were 11 heroes out there and full credit to them all. Three away wins and no goals conceded. Now a home draw would be nice.
P.S. With no injuries and no bookings, how did the ref calculate five mins of added time and then make it nearer seven?

I think we need to keep a very low profile where fiddled gate numbers are concerned, as we have certainly done the same many times. Some people will remember how Overlune delayed handing over our share of the replay money in '96 after we had given blatantly false figures for the first fixture. There was also the Maine Road Cup tie three years ago, when the gate figure was drastically deflated , thus depriving Maine Road FC of their just deserts. I also recall our home Trophy tie against FCUM, when a City official who shall be nameless asked me for an estimate of the attendance. He promptly knocked off 100 from the figure I suggested. Yes, this sort of thing is disgraceful, but we are as guilty as anybody--perhaps FCUM regard this as payback time. (I think I should add the word ALLEGEDLY to all the preceding remarks )SC GenSec wrote:That declared crowd figure is a scandal. Don't think that Panorama will be too interested in this aspect of football corruption.

Great Day. Great Result.
The old Crowd Debate :-)
Sat in the stand at the half way line and 5 of us played Predict The Crowd. All 5 of us independently guessed between 900 and 1100. So I did an approximate head count and got 950.
the official figure of 1,033 was if anything a bit high!! And yes, I've been at many games over the years where I've been astonished at the official figure given. But on this occasion, think they were bang on.
