They played good football in final third and had far more at the back than we could break down for the most part.
It was pretty much their best eleven and they have been on good form, Waddecar ripped us to shreds.
We had a a mixed line up- Hudson right midfield?!- and a few had poor games, a rare one for Steel for example.
If a pair of Kilifin headers had gone in late on, narrowly over, it would have been closer;unfairly so.
We also had a late penalty shout turned down.

No comment would have been better

No comment is rather an unfair comment, if that makes sense. It was a good game to watch, with fast open football and a lot of good passing movements, especially from Brig who were definitely the better side. However, Tom K showed some great touches and was unlucky not to score, while Danny M as centre forward worked well at times. Other experiments didn't work so well, e.g. Hudson and Winder on the wings, and our centre backs were a bit unreliable, though they didn't get a lot of protection from midfield. We miss Hunter more than anyone else.

For the penalty shout, Rob Henry ventured into the opposition penalty box for about the first time in his life and had his shirt blatantly pulled. As you would expect, the ref and his assistant managed to avoid seeing it - everyone else saw it.
Maybe Rob should venture forward more often?

Winder is at his best on the right wing. He's been playing there all season so wouldn't say it was an experimentCarefulWithThatAxe wrote:Other experiments didn't work so well, e.g. Hudson and Winder on the wings

He played centre-mid with Walker until Hudson came off and Akrigg went in the middle, Winder then went wide right - or that was the plan.

When Rob worked his way into the box, I thought maybe this is the moment, but no, blatant foul. Oh well, penalty I thought, maybe Rob will grab hold of the ball, step up and slot it away. But no, officials see no evil once again.CarefulWithThatAxe wrote:For the penalty shout, Rob Henry ventured into the opposition penalty box for about the first time in his life and had his shirt blatantly pulled.
