Southport, Hyde, Shields

Quiet on here lads!
Disappointed to not beat Southport after the first half. Looked weak going forward.
Hyde, bit better and a fair point based on the balance of play. At least it stopped the rot of 3 defeats on the bounce.
Then we go and beat big bad Shields last night. We’re so much better when we’re up against it.

Didn't see anything of the Southport game so I can't comment.
Hyde,a point each was a fair summation of the game.
Last night we deserved to win. There was 100% effort & commitment & allowed them to create very little. First 15 minutes or so they moved the ball quickly, they have plenty of pace & strength & I thought we might've been in for a long night, but their heads seemed to drop pretty quickly. Our work rate & closing down were excellent, but I think that if they had continued at the rate that they started, then we would've struggled to maintain that level of effort for 90 minutes.
Well taken goal by Charlie, but although our strikers worked hard it seems that both Joe & Nathan are lacking a bit of confidence which seemed to be highlighted by both off target & poorly struck shots.
TBF we limited the number of chances they had & I don't think that Curtis had to make more than one significant save & that was from a deflection. They had one real opportunity to test him with a header but it was put over the bar from a very good position.
The two loanee center halves were excellent & well marshalled by TEEEAGUE. My MOTM was Liam Brockbank, closely challenged by Charlie Bailey, but there were outstanding performances all over the pitch & everyone should hold their head high after that.
Crowd was very disappointing

Nath needs a goal doesn’t he haha.
I’ve been a bit disappointed by JRG. He’s a back-to-goal player, but didn’t do much against Hyde or Southport. Seen him square up defenders in the left channel several times and always going back onto his right foot into the channels, woulda liked to see him just make some space on the outside and have a dig.
Chas Bailey class when he’s on it aint he.
Brockbank will go down in the long list of fine Left Backs (or Wing Back) we’ve had this century.
