Hyde...ing
29/2/2020, 21:25
A bit of a thumping today going by the scoreline. If our twitter coverage can be believed we had a number of chances, & I would imagine that after conceding 2 early goals that we were chasing the game & left somewhat exposed. Never the less, like MF, I expected a positive response & a win this afternoon.
Right now it feels to me like our promotion push maybe over. Anyone else feel the same? Or are you more positive?

Difficult to feel positive after such a drubbing. Wasn't there yesterday, but was listening to the radio commentary and it seemed like we were so intent on winning that we forgot about defending. Eight goals conceded in the last two games is not the form of promotion candidates. Given MF's comments after the Whitby game, I'd hate to imagine his thoughts about yesterday. Get the defensive frailties sorted out and we may still have a chance of making the playoffs.

Very much a need to get back to basics! The 1st goal was a joke, Steely taking the throw on the left with Armer upfield leaving Hudson exposed at the back with no midfield cover!
The wing backs consistently playing up the field and not covering for either Hudson or Armer leaving them stuck in no man’s land! This was massively exploited in the 2nd half and looks like the Hyde manager did his homework at H.T. playing their wingers and full backs higher up the pitch.
No midfielder sitting as cover in front of the back 3!
Changing the team massively from what was a good performance at Radcliffe.
Need to go to 4-5-1 for this Saturdays game with Norris missing.
Ashton
S Bailey, Hudson, Steel, Armer,
C Bailey, Wills, Cowperthwaite, Wilson, Rydel,
Blinkhorn

We’ve done well at Hyde in the past. Woulda loved to have been a fly on the wall in our changing room after that

As Feeney has gone to Clitheroe does that free up a little money to bring someone in? Will have to await the manager’s comments in the newsletter on Friday.
