Fair play to Mark, his first couple of signings were cause for concern, but Norris is a class act and Carsley a goalscorer, now one of our own is in. Lots to be positive about - just need an extra 50 on the gate Saturday

I'm sure it'll be a good signing, but if he comes as a midfielder, he'll be one of eight when Sam Bailey is fit, so it's going to be difficult to keep everyone happy. Maybe we'll see some departures now. I would have thought we would need some backup in central defence with Hudson ruled out for the season. Williams and Steel have had their own injury problems this season, so we might struggle if one of them is out of action.

It's hard for me to comment on the basis of what has been going on in matches as I haven't managed a game since New Year's Day and I probably shouldn't have gone to that but if Dawson can play at right full back then let's get on with it because for me that's where we are most vulnerable, quickly followed, as alluded to above, by central defence. If he's going to play midfield then surely some of our current midfield are going to be looking over their shoulders because MF can't play all of them and chopping and changing on a game to game basis is not what we need right now - it will be interesting to see how this pans out if it goes ahead. It would be great if we could get a settled first choice eleven and let the lads get used to one another's game because consistently playing together is, for me at least, the best way to improve the team - don't get me wrong I know it's not easy at this level.

Agree with Dave & others, we need a fullback more than we need another midfielder. Will he be happy to be played there?...if he signs that is of course

Guardian says he signed yesterday. We now have 10 midfielders by my reckoning, once Sam Bailey is fit. MF says he wants to play Dawson in midfield, so even if we play 5 there that leaves a few kicking their heels on the bench or not even in the squad.
