Clitheroe on Tues

Two huge and possibly season defining games coming up at Giant Axe. Win them both and we have that all important breathing space, lose them both and we're in a playoff quagmire.
We could do with lots of vocal support and shouts of encouragement from all sections of the ground for the lads to get the six points, and try and lift the cagey atmosphere of late.
Up the Dollies!

How good to see a post about football; the forum's traffic only seems to be upped by bickering these days.
Indeed, maybe not a season-defining week with around 50 points still to be played for, but a very important one. Clitheroe have been a real monkey on our backs, winning four and drawing two of their last six visits to the Giant Axe. That's a record we desperately need to break.
Farsley is the only team that can overhaul us at the moment, in that winning their two games in hand would give them a one point advantage. They scored a late winner against Brighouse yesterday, although there was a little joy for us with Trafford only drawing, albeit they were two down at one stage.
Best of luck to the lads; we really don't want those dreaded play-offs again!

Play to our potential both winnable.. Farsley might be our nearest challengers but they can't keep a clean sheet. Hope we play 2 up against them. NMBAWA

Two wins gives us 60 points two thirds into the season, so that's on target for the 90 points which should see us as champions this year. Long way to go, but, contrary to popular belief, our home form is , in terms of average points per game, slightly better than our away form. Having said that, I'd settle for four points from these two games.

I don't think anyone's suggesting our away record is better than our home form.....for me, at least, I think our home form should be so much better than it is. We're top of the league, the Axe should be a fortress, teams should be in fear of visiting us. We need to take advantage & do our bit ourselves by turning up in numbers & providing plenty of vocal backing. It's our best season in about 13 years, where is everyone FFS?

Which brings us back to the old chestnut, why don't the people of Lancaster want a football team?

Let's get down & get behind the boys!
A convincing home win would do both players & fans the world of good before Saturday's big clash
