Match report:
We welcomed Great Harwood Rovers Ladies to the Giant Axe and were looking to continue the way we left of after last weeks result.
We began the game attacking and on 3 mins Emily Wilson had an opportunity to put us ahead but saw her shot go wide of the left post, an early free kick from the visitors tested our defence and we stood firm and cleared our lines, Great Harwood pushed us back but our centre back pairing of Sherrilee Youren and Aimee Rostern got on to everything, On 12mins a throw in from Lydia Gorst Alison Capstick flicked it on to Miya Jackson and her left foot did the rest across the keeper and into the back of the net.
We began to take control of the game and putting our passing together it seemed it was only a matter of time before our second came, on 23 mins it did come a move that was started at the back from Kay Dockerty up the line to Jess Weston played into Alison Capstick turned inside into Kayleigh Young's feet turned and hit low to the keepers left 2 - 0.
We pushed on to try and get a third before half time with the visitors getting back behind the ball we found it hard to break them down and at the interval we went in 2 - 0 up, the players were asked just to think a little bit more in the final third keep playing our game and more goals will come. we continued were we had left off and a minute in Emily Wilson saw her shot hit the bar 4 mins later Emma Gardner played in a corner Emily Wilson got above everybody and put us 3 - 0 up.
54mins a clearance at the back from Great Harwood hit towards the centre Emma Gardner won the header in the middle onto Alison Capstick who played a one two on the edge of the box with Kayleigh Young and looped a shot over the onrushing keeper 4 - 0, we continued to play the ball around and finding space but with Great Harwood getting back behind the ball it was up to somebody to do something special if we wanted further goals Player of the Match Emma Gardner did just that on 78 mins hit a 25yd thunderbolt that dipped under the bar to give us our fifth goal
80 mins Jess Weston made a run from half way on the right played the ball into Georgia Wilson who played it along the 18yd line into Kayleigh Young's feet two touches to beat two defenders and put us 6 - 0 up with a right footed shot, with 2mins to go Jess Weston again on a run down the right got her cross into the area Kayleigh Young met the ball only to see her shot hit the bar.
