Lost 1-3 for anybody who didn't know.

TH and Browny were there.

Would like to hear what they thought of our performance.

Think everyone was pleasantly surprised we didn't get battered, and there was a point midway through the second half when we actually looked like we could get something out of the game.

Yeah, the cautionary thing would be I don't think Skem played that well yet I never felt they would lose. When we attacked in the 2nd half we did alright hopefully lessons are learned from that.

The negatives - someone tell the players we play in Blue ! ie : Stop giving the ball away. To be fair tho, Skem did it as well, boggy pitch didnt help.
I thought we looked better at the back and Swabba worked hard up front. mostly on his own tho. As for Simpson, not convinced at all and Dodgy got 12 goals for Northwich did he ? How ? Thought we were going to pull it back at 1-2 but the third ended it. I've certainly seen City play a lot worse this season. Some room for optimism.

I would hope Stringy/Wainy have actually asked him that given his Northwich goals are the statistical outlier of his recent career.

The Evo-Stik South isn't as good as the North league, so people say. Also probably because they've scored ten more goals than us this season would suggest they're a bit better at creating chances.

Sad sign of the times that a 1-3 defeat is seen as giving cause for optimism. TH mentioned that we never lost to Skem in his time (though I remember a couple of fives against in Stimmo's day) Slightly worrying too that our (only?) attempts on target came from defenders (Gregson and Hudson).

That's because the only times we looked remotely dangerous were from set-pieces. In open play we were getting nowhere. Without Wilson, and without Ryan marauding down the left, we just haven 't got the guile to unlock defences, even when said defences aren't playing that well - Skem certainly didn't look like the best in our division - nowhere near the standard of Ramsbottom for example. Recent signings in attack and midfield(Green, Simpson, Naylor) have all been flops to date, though it is good to see Wills back.
