Going by train may be a bit of a trek. Route suggestion, online is to go via Carlisle, Metrocentre, Gateshead bus station then bus to the Nissan Sports centre. Journey time about 3 3/4 hrs.
Ground is fairly remote.

Alternative would be to get into sunderland, then a bus from the city centre.
