Big weekend.....

.......coming up. I think that I'd settle for 4 points out of these 2 games. I'd love to see us record our first home win on Monday!
Any thoughts?

Well that's 1 of my 4 points!
From following both sides' twitter accounts it seems that we created chances hitting the woodwork 3 times (although 1 of these 3 did result in our goal)
This will have been the first time we've been ahead this season. Interesting to note that after 5 games Gav Clark is still our top scorer

Well we were ahead at Buxton after 68 minutes!
Stalybridge not had the best of starts, let's hope for three points on Monday.

This " big weekend" post has really got the forum bouncing. As it is, I will be attending my first league game of the season on Monday. Please have the correct change ready Steve.

You'll have to let me know what amount you intend to tend in order for me to have the correct change to hand

Big Weekend Continued
27/8/2017, 21:05
So, lets just have a think about this, Steve. The Lancaster lads are feeling pretty chuffed about the way it's gone so far - quite rightly - and go into tomorrow's game feeling pretty self-confident, even though Phil Brown is cautioning against complacency, and any temptation to take the foot off the gas. It's a beautiful sunny Bank Holiday, and there's a sizeable home crowd turned up to see for themselves the side that's making news in the City. The visitors, Stalybridge Celtic are pretty low on confidence having lost 4 on the bounce, including the last two at home, and have gone (according to the NLP today) 5.5 hrs without scoring - not quite sure that's right, but that's what Disgruntled Reporter at Staly reported. The visitors are wilting under the pressure of home criticism from supporters who expected the relegated Club to at least have a go at this Division, but they are currently second bottom of the League.
So what do we think will happen next ?

I'm hoping that this afternoon doesn't develop into one of those "pressure" situations (fuelled by expectation of a win) that we didn't deal with very well last season.
We have defended relatively well & with Josh Powell in good form, hopefully we can extend our visitor's barren spell.
I'd like to see us create a few more chances, & to convert a decent percentage of them.
I hope that you're right about the sizable home turnout, & that they bring a few despite their poor form.
Haven't really got a clue what might happen. but I'm hoping for a win still!
