Left for a job and semi-pro football Down Under.

Will this divide opinion? I never had too much of a problem with him as he always gave everything and more.

Cracking player, need 2/3 like him in every team.
Good luck to him!

Haha, not biting. Well only a bit. I think life will go on for all of us pretty much the same as before (except Simon who will be in Australia)

I've no doubt we'll miss Simon but we will move on. Just want to wish him all the best, having lived in Oz for a few years I'm sure he'll have a great time out there, and to thank him for his dedication to the Dolly cause - all the best 'Mate'

A cracking little player who got better with a bit of hard work. A thin squad just got thinner. I don't think Akrigg or Walker are the obvious replacements. All the best Scholesy.

Always gave 100% perhaps not the best right back but certainly a good midfield player who will be missed. All the best Simon with the job and the football. I am sure it will work out fine over there for you. My friend went to Adelaide late 90's with his wife and 2 children. They agreed not to return for a holiday back here for 3 years and have only come back twice since.

I'd been looking forward eagerly to his return from injury. Like DP I felt that he had been running into a real vein of form, and his second half against Warrington was probably the best I have seen from a City player this season. I agree that we lack midfield strength without him--Billy Akrigg is a winger, not a central midfielder, and Rob Walker, though a great prospect, is still young and lightweight for a 90 minute stint against full grown bruisers. Thanks for all the hard work, Scholesy, and some moments of real delight--including that cracking goal at Clitheroe.
