Not sure what relevance todays game has to observations on previous performances.South of the river wrote:alasher wrote:We arent creating a large number of clear-cut chances, & we are converting too small a percentage of those that we do create. On Saturday our attacking players looked like they were on totally different wave lengths, there was very little combination play between them. While it is true that if you dont concede you dont lose, it is not possible to account for a good goal like the one New Mills scored on Saturday. It is certainly true that if you dont score you dont win. We arent scoring enough.
Not the most astute comments in the light of today's result.
Also not sure how much can be read into scoring 9 against a side that have shipped 7 to Warrington, 6 to Trafford, 5 to Kendal, Ossett Town, Curzon Ashton, and 4 against North East Counties side Brighouse on Tuesday.

Easy to be smart after the event, isnt it? If we score nine against Brig on Tuesday I will happily concede the point to youSouth of the river wrote:alasher wrote:We arent creating a large number of clear-cut chances, & we are converting too small a percentage of those that we do create. Just enjoy it while you can. Lancaster scoring 9, away. It won't happen again. And as a bonus, we get three points as well !!

City score nine and you're still dissatisfied !janb wrote:Not sure what relevance todays game has to observations on previous performances.South of the river wrote:alasher wrote:We arent creating a large number of clear-cut chances, & we are converting too small a percentage of those that we do create. Not trying to be smart. I was merely highlighting the limited outlook of a turnstile operator:lol: .alasher wrote:Easy to be smart after the event, isnt it? If you're so unsure about things, why make any comment at all.South of the river wrote:City score nine and you're still dissatisfied !janb wrote:Not sure what relevance todays game has to observations on previous performances.South of the river wrote:alasher wrote:We arent creating a large number of clear-cut chances, & we are converting too small a percentage of those that we do create. Not at all. Very satisfied.South of the river wrote:

What I'm not going to do is draw any conclusions about past or future performance based on one game though, particularly of this nature. Its likely to prove a statistical outlier however our season pans out.
