Away day blues

So a season which promised so much in the first few weeks ends with a whimper. One goal scored in the last five games underlines what PB said about our lack of a striker. Finding one will be a priority I'm sure during the close season. Yesterday at Witton was typical of so many matches this season. Lots of possession, neat football, chances created but no end product. Generally sound defending but two costly lapses cost us the game. Lost possession in midfield for the first goal and a clumsy tackle gave away a penalty as we strove to get back into the game. Their goalscorer has 30+ goals this season and we have managed that total with three players, two of whom are midfielders. Speaks volumes.

Easy to say it but really disappointed Killer was snubbed so much. Tam can't play on his own, at least for 90 minutes. Simpson offered nothing.
Be surprised if Killer is still on these shores for the start of next season. And when he goes, I'll be surprised if he doesn't return

So it's Marine away in the F.A. Trophy on the 27th and Marine away in the League Cup on the 30th. Hope we don't need a Trophy replay or we'll be sick of the sight of them. Could do with some cup joy and some cash.
