What can I say? Another away defeat to a side we should beat. A decent start to the game then caught on the break by a swift counter attack. Their No. 11 caused us all sorts of problems on both flanks and we couldn't cope with their direct style. Went 2-0 down so we're chasing the game again. Lost both central defenders by half time but ironically were much better second half. Lots of pressure but little end product. Another sucker punch late on spelled the end. A good job we had a good start to the season because current form is relegation standard. Are we playing too much good football against teams who just get the ball and run at us? We now have a problem in central defence with Mercer still suspended and it appears both Williams and Hudson injured. Steel wasn't in the squad at all last night. Wonder if Gav Clark regrets leaving?

What makes it worse is the teams who we are losing to. Since the beginning of December we’ve lost to Matlock twice, Nantwich twice, Stalybridge and Rushall, who are all below us in the table. We also lost to Hednesford who were about level with us at the time and failed to beat Barwell, who were below us.

I doubt Clark regrets leaving as he will probably get regular first team football; ironic that his Lancaster City career was effectively ended by Jack Duggan, as Gavin was playing so well before his injury. We could do with Westwood still being here as well.

Thought we had a reserve side at some point this season, never hear of them these days. Can we not promote players from that seeing PB doesn't seem to like signing any or chooses to get loanees in.

Agree we started well but every time we get crosses in nobody gets on the end of them. Mamadou never won a header all night and of the the 3 strikers we have Hannu and Tom none are really a centre forward that can play the lone striker. We were poor first half then dominated the 2nd half because Rushell sat back the only time we looked like scoring was when sub Ryan cut in side and their keeper saved it and pushed it out to Mamadou who shot the rebound at their keeper. Billy broke through but blazed over. Charlie made a difference when he came on 2nd half but unfortunately was unable to get the ball to the lone striker. Now with Steve and Ben going off we are struggling at the back. What ever differences Gavin and Phil had Phil should have somehow sorted them especially with one suspended for 3 games and another coming back from injury which obviously was too soon. Until his injury Gavin played really well and if he had not got injured would we have brought another centre back in. We have also let Josh Westwood go but do not know if we still have his registration. Worrying times but we are well away from the bottom thank goodness.

Worrying indeed. We are fortunate to be well clear of the bottom place but only 11 points from 12 league games since the start of December is not just a blip and the next two games against playoff
contenders don't provide much consolation. I read that Halesowen have been deducted four points, which would send them to the bottom with 23 points, so we shouldn't be in danger, but the sooner we get back to winning ways the better.

Seems we have signed a defender on loan from Chorley.

Away day blues Empty Coalville

Just the performance that was needed to get us back on track. Dominant from the start and unfortunate to only be level at half time, Coalville having equalized with their only real attack of the half. Hannu's goal right at the start of the second half set the ball rolling for an excellent display of attacking football. Two headed goals from Ricky (contrary to what was on the tannoy crediting the first one to Anson) and some solid defensive work in the face of belated home pressure made for a deserved victory. A cup win on Tuesday and another v Chorley next week and we'll all be happy again. Crisis, what crisis?

This.

Couldn't make it on Saturday but was made up with the emphatic result for many reasons, particularly for hopefully bursting the "Brown Out" bubble that was incredulously appearing from a tiny minority.

11th in the table the season after a league title, despite having one of the smallest playing budgets in the league, and still in two cup competitions in mid-February. This after already having a good run in both the FA Cup AND FA Trophy.

A few defeats over the winter and the Premier League mentality of sack everything that moves creeps in Evil or Very Mad Question Borderline embarrassing.
